space time continuum - press here

Review:

Released during the golden age of ambient techno, Sea Biscuit was Spacetime Continuum's first proper album, after a collaborative effort with Terence McKenna on 1993's "Alien Dreamtime". Though the album is meandering, and clearly enamored with pioneering ambient techno artists on other labels, it gives listeners a window into the growth process that Spacetime Continuum went through, between this album, and 1996's "Emit Ecaps".

Facil-Label: Instinct Year: 1995

A particularly outstanding album in an already stellar roster of releases on Instinct Ambient, this self titled album from Facil is similar to the ambient techno classic "76:14" by Global Communication, but slightly more focused and beat oriented. also bearing a resemblance to early Human Mesh Dance.

"The Mariachi Brass Featuring Chet Baker -A Taste Of Tequila -1965 US": Here

Versatility is one of the greatest attributes of any acknowledged jazz star: The ability to bring his musicianship to new concepts in arrangements and overall sound. Chet Baker has this attribute. This album demonstrates it.
This album is more than a taste of that rejuvenating beverage, tequila (straight with salt and lime). It is really a generous sampling of Mexicana, with a few Norte-americano touches, such a "Tequila" of course, in which Chet's horn is in a decided Miles Davis vein, and also "Hot Toddy". "Telegraph Avenue-S/T-1971 Peru": Enjoy!!

In 1970, Telegraph Avenue were formed after lead guitarist Bo Ichikawa returned to Peru, after having stayed half a year in San Francisco, where he had been exposed to the vivid local hippie rock culture. On his return he assembled all kinds of American influences, in a very convincing powerful way, with songs in English, but with ideas for arrangements which were more typical for the best Peruvian bands from those days.
The full arrangements are incredibly contrasting. There were two percussionists in the band. The first percussionist is Walo Carrilo (drums, percussion, maracas, tambourine), who, before Telegraph Avenue, had been a bandleader from Los Holy’s.
The additional percussionist is called Chachi Lujan (acoustic guitar, bongos, piano). The final member is the bass player Alex Nathanson (who also plays acoustic guitar, clavichord, piano). The styles of the songs are very varied, have bluesrock, Californian feelings, influences of soulrock and sixties flavoured styles. The psychedelic element is rather unique and can only be heard in the top Peruvian bands. (by request)

Montage- Featuring Mike Brown Of The Left Banke-1969 US (Bam-Caruso Records-1986 UK, press here to download

As the chief songwriter for The Left Banke, Mike Brown composed an array of songs that conflated Baroque style classical music with rock ‘n roll reminiscent of popular British bands such as The Zombies and The Beatles. The string-heavy "Walk Away Renée" peaked at #5 in 1966 on the Billboard charts, and with the help of Brown’s father, The Left Banke released an album on Smash/Mercury Records in 1967.
In January 1967, Brown walked out on
The Left Banke to be a studio auteur. Montage is what became of Brown’s aspirations, Brown wrote a majority of the band’s songs, played the keyboards, and produced the record. Montage is exactly what you’d expect of Brown, meticulously crafted pop songs drenched in strings, harmonies and the occasional horn section.
Members:
Mike Brown (keyboards and vocal arrangements)
Bob Steurer (lead vocals)
Vance Chapman (vocals, drums)
Mike Smyth (lead guitar, vocals)
Lance Cornelius (bass, vocals)

"The Bonniwell Music Machine-S/T- 1967 US": Download here

The Music Machine (1965-1969) was an American garage rock and psychedelic band headed by singer-songwriter Sean Bonniwell and based in Los Angeles. The band sound was often defined by fuzzy guitars and a Farfisa organ. Their original look comprised of all-black clothing and black moptop hairstyles .
After a promotional tour of the U.S. the rest of the original line-up, which included Ron Edgar (drums), Mark Landon (guitar), Keith Olsen (bass) and Doug Rhodes (organ), left Bonniwell, due to internal conflicts. In 1967 , Music Machine (essentially only Bonniwell at this point) were signed to Warner Bros and re-named The Bonniwell Music Machine. The name was changed to give more prominence to the band's core member, songwriter and vocalist Sean Bonniwell. A self-titled LP was released that year, made up mostly of previously recorded singles with the original line-up.
