Versatility is one of the greatest attributes of any acknowledged jazz star: The ability to bring his musicianship to new concepts in arrangements and overall sound. Chet Baker has this attribute. This album demonstrates it.
This album is more than a taste of that rejuvenating beverage, tequila (straight with salt and lime). It is really a generous sampling of Mexicana, with a few Norte-americano touches, such a "Tequila" of course, in which Chet's horn is in a decided Miles Davis vein, and also "Hot Toddy".
